Meow What Do We Have Here???
Why are cats so ubiquitous on the Internet you ask? Believe it or not researchers have spent millions (maybe not millions) studying this online phenomenon. Basically these “researchers” have all come to some variation of the same conclusion, that cats are cute, hilarious and 90% of internet content is ridiculous. See Cats and the Internet Wikipedia article.
Meow as a cat blogger I find the exploitation of cats on the web to be very concerning and have been losing lots of sleep over this issue lately! Some days I only get 16 hours of sleep and my Vet says I should be getting at least 20 hours… I spend most of my waking hours surfing the web and social media looking at so many tasteless LOLCATs and videos.
I am going to make it my mission with these blog entries to show the world that cat art is something to be taken seriously, respected and not just treated as a distraction from productive human work.
Meow each month I will be reviewing different forms of Feline Artistry in the hope that it will transform your opinion about the place contemporary cat art holds in an overly saturated post-modern kitty content cluster f#$%.
This month we will take a look at the website Cat-Bounce.com (click to see).
Cat Bounce is a classy, sultry and playful little romp of a website. While the kitty models are fully nude it is still artful and in good taste. The artist clearly understands the complex relationship between the cat and the mouse. Once the kitties settle at the bottom of your screen you can use your mouse to fling the kitty back up in the air where it will bounce around in a graceful aerial dance. If you are feeling frisky click the ‘Make it Rain!’ button in the top right corner and be sure to have your sound turned on. By FAR one of the most beautiful expressions of Kinetic Cat Art this blogger has ever seen.
Please support my sponsor and check back next month for another cat art review and an exciting announcement!
